Children and teenagers do not need a referral to see a Speech Pathologist, so if you would like to book a consultation simply call or email us.

FUNDING
We are registered as a Medicare Provider.
Medicare will cover some of the costs of your Speech Pathologist appointments if they are arranged through a chronic disease management plan prepared by your GP. The amount covered is currently $53.80 per session, for up to five allied health services per calendar year.

Private Health Insurers in Australia generally include Speech Pathology in their Extras cover.
Please contact your provider to check your level of cover.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government healthcare scheme.
It will provide funding to people with developmental delay or a permanent disability.
The NDIS will provide funding for assessments, therapy, therapeutic resources and other supports to improve a child’s functional capacity.
Speech Stories is not yet registered with NDIS but is able to provide services to self-managed or plan-managed NDIS clients.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Families will be sent a reminder message one day before scheduled appointments. Please advise in advance if you are unable to attend. Appointments that are not cancelled or attended are liable for the full fee. Appointments cancelled with short notice (less than 3hrs) incur a 50% fee.
